The Winery

Our story began in 2005 when Deborah Wilde & Lanny Kinrade purchased land that would eventually be Hidden Chapel Winery. Its attributes included a gorgeous setting overlooking neighbouring vineyards, beautiful gardens & a little chapel nestled amongst the pine trees at the back of the property. The vineyard of cabernet sauvignon grapes was planted in spring 2006.

Over a glass of wine, Lanny & the boys decided that the location of an old pool on the property, which had not been used for 14 years and was located at the side of a hill, would make an ideal place for an underground wine cellar. In the summer of 2007 construction began on the 1000 square foot structure.

Over the next couple of years an old garage on the property was renovated to make the winery building area and over a few more glasses of wine, we came up with the name of Hidden Chapel

Winery. In 2009 we obtained our official wine license to produce wine. Since wine has to age, our first wines were not offered for sale until summer of 2010.

The wine shop was finished in spring 2011 and officially opened the May 24th weekend. It continues to be open for tastings and to purchase wine 7 days a week from 10:00 to 6:00, March 29th to October 15th, 2013. From October 15th, 2013 the shop is open for wine sales 11:00 to 5:00. In a quaint, cozy style it features antique stained glass panels taken from an old building in downtown Vancouver, a unique tasting bar with re-claimed columns & desert colours of terra cotta, sun yellow and espresso brown accents...the fun begins!!

Truly, this is not the end of the story but the beginning of a dream that has become reality...thank you for joining us!
